GUJRANWALA - The District Coordination Officer (DCO) has directed all the staff concerned to strictly follow the instructions under Anti-Dengue Ordinance.
DCO Ch Muhammad Amin was addressing a meeting of the officers of the city district government and the health department. He stressed creating awareness at grass-roots level to tackle the menace and ordered the officers to get implemented the law in letter and spirit.
He also directed the DO Social Welfare and public relations department to organize seminars and launch media campaigns to save lives of the masses. A comprehensive survey must be conducted for disposal of used tyres, ponds and open spaces, where stored water could cause growth of dengue mosquitoes.
Moreover, 200 teachers would be trained during a daylong training at DHQ Hospital. Speaking on the occasion, DO (Secondary Education) Ehsanul Haq said that 50 teachers each from four towns of the city would participate in the training. The trainers will create awareness about dengue in their respective areas as well as among the students at primary, middle and high school level, he added.
