MANDI BAHAUDDIN - People of the district have urged Chief Minister Punjab to allocate development funds for repairing and construction of link roads in rural areas.

Khalid Mahmood, former naib nazim of Shahidanwali union council, said that roads in his union council had completely dismantled and since the time present govt came to power, no funds had been sanctioned for repair work of the roads in rural area. Riaz Mahir Advocate of UC Nain Ranjha said the Punjab govt was meting out a step-motherly treatment to Mandi Bahauddin. He said roads in his area were in the shambles and the people while travelling face hardships.

He said recently the Punjab government had allocated Rs9.73 billion for development schemes of different districts but no fund been allocated for Mandi Bahauddin. Akram Advocate of Kuthala Sheikhan Union Council expressing the similar concerns said that almost all the link roads in rural areas of the district were in worst form due to negligence of concerned authorities.

He demanded the government to renovate the roads.
