AHMEDPUR EAST - The Pakistan people's Party (PPP) leaders during a meeting with the District Coordination Officer (DCO) stressed the need for safety and security of the people from different minorities.

PPP MNA Arif Aziz Sheikh, party's South Punjab Vice President Hassan Askari Sheikh, former UC Chanigoth nazim Mehar Mohammad Siddique and party's Chanigoth President Chaudhry Khalid Gujjar called on Bahawalpur DCO Dr Naeem Rauf at his office and discussed grievances of inhabitants of chanigoth regarding lynching incident.

It is to be noted that a couple months ago a mob stormed into the Chanigoth Police Station, broke opened its lock-up and dragged a blasphemer to Chanigoth Chowk where they lynched him and later set the body ablaze.

On the occasion, the DCO assured them that genuine grievances of every citizen would be redressed and investigation into the incident would be conducted on merit. The DCO also assured that all innocent people would be released.
