ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court on Friday disposed of the application seeking disqualification of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, when the applicant failed to cite a reference to argue his case.

A two-member bench of Supreme Court, headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, heard the case about disqualification of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader. The petitioner, Shahid Orakzai, had challenged the ruling of Islamabad High Court holding the stance that the immediate family members of Nisar had the US nationality; therefore, he should be disqualified from the membership of the National Assembly.

However, the appeal was disposed of, as he could not give any legal grounds supporting his point.
