Wanted in 60 cases ‘Notorious contract killer' held in shootout


HAFIZABAD - A notorious contract killer and ringleader of a criminal gang has been arrested by the Pindi Bhattian police after two-hour shootout near his native village Jalloki.
The gang has been involved in dacoity, robbery and cattle lifting incidents in Sargodha, Chiniot, Jhang, Faisalabad and Hafizabad districts since long. The police have also seized heavy firearms from the injured proclaimed offender.
According to police source, Mansib Ali alias Mansbi Sargana of Jalloki village was wanted by different police stations in more than 60 cases of murder, dacoity and cattle lifting etc for the past one decade. Recently, he along with MPA Muhammad Aslam Madhiana of Sarghoda has tortured a school teacher.
During the last decade, he indulged in armed encounters with the police but always managed to escape and hid himself in the 'Bela'(Jungle) in the middle of River Chenab and challenged the police and land owners particularly in the river belt area of Hafizabad and other districts as well.
On a tip off, Pindi Bhattian SHO Syed Arif Hussain Shah along with a heavy police contingent raided his native village Jalloki where he was alone in his outhouse.
On seeing the police party, he started firing on the cops. In retaliation, the police also started firing which continued for more than two hours. However, the accused was injured and arrested by the police.
