LAHORE - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera has issued transfer orders of 11 senior police officers, out of whom three were on duty during Model Town tragedy, said a police spokesman on Sunday.

The spokesman said that Mukhtar Hussain was posted as SP security; Malik Liaquat as Additional SP security; Umar Saeed as Additional SP Headquarters; Maroof Wahla as SP RID in DG Khan; Muhammad Rizwan as SP VVIP Security; Zahid Nawaz as Additional SP Mobile; Syed Abdur Rahim Sherazi as SP investigation DG Khan; Malik Nadeem as SP Operation Cantt; Muhammad Baqir as SP Model Town Lahore; Farukh Raza as SP Investigation Okara; and Capt Bashir Makhdoom was transferred and directed to report Central Police Office.

Among the above said officers, SP Farukh Raza, Abdur Rahim Sherazi and Maroof Wahla were on duty during Model Town tragedy. Moreover, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) activists have already filed an application in court against these officers.
