ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) would launch two new residential sectors to provide more residential facilities to the citizens. A senior official CDA told APP, that Sectors C-15 and C-16 would be opened for the general public in the next few months.

“The exercise will not only help in creating new residential opportunities for the public, but it will also help the civic body to generate some handsome amounts from sale of plots through balloting in these two sectors,” the official said. The affected people of land falling in Sectors C-15 and C-16 would be compensated as per land-sharing formula and on the basis of award which was announced in 2008.

According to the land-sharing formula, the owners of land would be given one fourth size of land against their land in shape of residential plots as compensation.

The management of the authority would also make provision for development sector I-12 where affected people of Sector E-12 are being accommodated.

It may be pointed out here that when the CDA offered a number of residential plots to the public on heavy prices, it did not have possession of the land in Sector E-12.

“Now we have been able to take possession of 800 kanals of land in this sector,” he said. The officials said that once the launching of sectors is completed, the CDA would start working on revamping of sewerage and water supply system with change of various pipelines, and on their civic amenities.
