In connection with the month-long Independence Day celebrations, a freedom walk was taken out to highlight the significance of the occasion.

The walk was jointly organised by the Labour Department and the administration of local spinning mills and was led by District Officer Labour Malik Mohammad Farooq. The walk which ended at Jalalpur point was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life. The participants were carrying national flags and were chanting “Pakistan Zindabad.”

Meanwhile, a district level essay competition and tableaus were also held at Govt High School Lodhran wherein ADC Wajid Ali and TMO Ch Shafiq were chief guest. The competition was supervised by Headmaster Malik Mohammad Aslam and Malik Mumtaz Marral.

Similarly essay competitions were also held at Govt High School Lodhran and Govt School Dunyapur.

Senior Headmaster Mohammad Irshad Chohan Lodhran who was the chief gust distributed prizes among position holders. The first position among girls was grabbed by Shumaila Sardar, a student of Khanwa Ghalwan, second position was got by Wajiha Zaffar of Jalla Arraien and the third position went to Iqra Farooq of Dhanoot.

Among boys, the first position was secured won by Rana Zain of Gagun Hutta, second by Asif Raza of Danwran and the third position was got by Muhammad Habaib of Jalla Araien.
