BAHAWALPUR/KHANEWAL

PTI leaders, activists and supporters continued their protests here on Sunday in favour of their party chief Imran Khan’s demands for the resignation of the prime minister.

The PTI protesters took out a rally and staged a sit-in at Farid Gate to express complete solidarity with the participants of the Azadi March and sit-in Islamabad. They also demonstrated for their demands at the Press-Club Bahawalpur to encourage the party leadership and workers for the cause.

The participants chanted slogans against the prime minister and the PML-N government. They remarked that the early ouster of the “corrupt” rulers was essential to turn the country into a welfare state for public.

They said that they would not violate the law but peaceful protest is their right to press the government for acceptance of their demands. They said that protests could be held around the residence of State Minister for Education and Interior Affairs Mian Baleeghur Rehman.

Meanwhile, the Khanewal local leadership arranged a sit-in at Bhutha Chowk. The PTI leadership said that the sit-in was being staged to show solidarity with the participants of Islamabad sit-ins.
