Army chief approves more military courts for Karachi

KARACHI: Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif today approved an increase in the number of military courts for Karachi to handle outstanding terror cases.

COAS General Raheel Sharif took the decision while chairing the security briefing in Karachi. He was also briefed on the current security position in the city.

According to ISPR, General Raheel handed equipment worth PKR65 million to Karachi police for enhancing their capabilities.

The meeting was also attended by the Corps Commander, Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar, DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa and representatives from the intelligence agencies.

Earlier, the army chief visited Army Air Defence center in Karachi's Malir Cantonment area.
