Bilawal in capital to hold party meetings

ISLAMABAD - PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was in Islamabad on Monday as he kicked off the consultation process with senior party leaders and workers regarding the Local Bodies elections and the re-organisation of the party.
Bilawal will stay in the capital for a week to hold meetings with his party members from Upper Punjab, KPK and Islamabad.
He will also chair meetings with main party leaders including Faryal Talpur and Vice President Sherry Rehman.
On Monday, Bilawal held a brief informal meeting with Faryal Talpur, Sherry Rehman, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Noor Alam, Akhunzada Chattan and discussed the agenda and the schedule regarding Local Bodies and the re-organisation of the party.
Sources said that the party Chairman is interested to run party affairs according to his ‘will and wishes’ by appointing new faces in the party.
Bilawal, after holding meetings with the party members in Islamabad, might also visit Punjab (Lahore) for some days to take some important steps regarding reorganisation in the party.
Talking to The Nation, PPP’s senior leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that Bilawal would hold consultative meetings with party members from Punjab, Khyber Pakhthunkhwa and Islamabad and other areas.
To a question about Bilawal’s visit to Punjab, he said that his (Bilawal) Punjab visit has not yet been finalised.
He also said that Bilawal was also focusing on the Local Bodies elections.
When contacted, PPP’s leader from KPK Noor Alam Khan said: “Bilawal will discuss the party matters.”
The PPP Chairman had thrice shelved his scheduled plan for re-organisation of the party in Punjab.
He had spent more than 10 months in the UK and also missed the party’s important functions including PPP’s Foundation Day ceremony on November 30th.
