LAHORE – British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan Monday met Punjab Chief Minister M Shahbaz Sharif and discussed matters regarding promotion of boxing at grassroots level in Pakistan. The chief minister said: “Pakistan has a lot of talent in every field of sports and need of the hour is to groom this talent to win more laurels for the country. The provincial government will extend every support to sports organisations working to produce brilliant sportsmen.” The Chief Minister eulogised Amir for earning good name for the country in boxing and vowed to take full advantage of his experience and skill for promotion of boxing. Amir praised the chief minister for his steps taken for the promotion of sports in Punjab and his vision of training Pakistani boxers on international lines.
