No male or female doctor in the entire valley is available while the post of medical officer is also vacant at Basic Health Unit Khot, a number of Chitral people complained.

They said that people of the valley especially females were facing great problems. They have to rush to Chitral or Booni Hospital in emergency but sometimes the patient expires before reaching the hospital due to poor condition of road.

They expressed their concerns during a medical camp that was held at Khot valley of upper Chitral which was badly affected by recent flood.

The camp was organized by Hindukush Association for Paragliding (HIKAP) who promotes paragliding at Chitral and participates in relief and rescue activities during natural calamity.

Dr Nisarullah of DHQ Hospital, Dr Yaqoob, Mrs Sakina, Ghulam Sarwar, Zahid, Sardar Wali and other participated in free medical camp. More than 400 patients were examined and they were also provided free medicines.

HIKAP Vice President Saifullah Jan said that they had conducted some 9 free medical camps at different parts of flood affected areas of Chitral where they treated about 1,500 patients with distribution of free medicines to the patients.

The valley is situated at 9,000 altitude and its road is very dangerous. They thanked HIKAP for arranging the free medical camp where hundreds of patients were examined free of cost and free medicines were also provided them.
