Islamabad - National Book Foundation Managing Director (MD) Dr Inam-ul-Haq Javed yesterday said the NBF has geared up its efforts to complete the aim of bringing back readers to book.

The MD said the NBF has been playing its role in the development of reading culture and has released outstanding and valuable books this year. The NBF has also maintained international standards for last many years.

The various programmes and events are aimed at reviving the book reading culture among students, he said. Eminent writers, poets, intellectuals, columnists and representatives of civil society grace these events and highlight the theme: “Back to Book-Read for Life”.

The NBF managing director said that our team was not only comprised of local staff but included student youths, teachers, members of civil society, budding writers and general public who are too, the vital segment of this aim.

Dr Inam said the foundation prides itself on publishing the Holy Quran first time in history. Meanwhile the foundation has published a new English Book titled “Elementary of Numerical Analysis” recently to facilitate students and researchers.

“We have introduced a new scheme `Peace Revolution through Book Revolution’, under which the NBF has so far published 250 new books”, the Managing Director said.
