LAHORE - The workers and engineers of electricity distribution companies pledged to continue to improve the standard of provision of better services to the electricity consumers. They demanded to the Government to raise cheap generation in the public sector and develop transmission of electricity system on war footing basis and provide safety to the field staff against the theft of electricity.

Asad Ullah Khan, Chief Engineer, Pesco was made victim of terrorism by the accused of theft of electricity during the performance of his duties earlier and two members of electricity staff were brutally killed in Islamabad Capital of City while detecting theft of electricity by the accused.

These views had been expressed by veteran trade union leader Khurshid Ahmed General Secretary of the Union in a large meeting held at Bakhtiar Labour Hall under the aegis of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union CBA.

At this occasion, Mujahid Islam Billa, Chief Engineer, LESCO also spoke and paid tributes to his service.
