AUCKLAND: British journalist and television personality Piers Morgan kicked up a Twitter storm on Wednesday after he criticised India's feverish celebration of the two medal victories at Rio Olympics, just a day after the New Zealand Herald published a story calling India "The worst country at the Olympics".

"Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that?" Morgan tweeted in response to a tweet by Indian user Tariq Vaidya expressing the extent of celebrations in India.
