PESHAWAR  -  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has said that accelerated completion of Bus Rapid Transit Project Peshawar and other mega projects, expanding the resource base of the province, promotion of productive sectors in the province and efficient delivery in consonance with people aspirations would be the priority areas of his government.

He was talking to different delegations, MPAs and others at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar on the 3rd Day of Eid-ul-Azha.

The Chief Minister spelt out his governance policy guidelines adding that this province is to be run under the vision of Imran Khan Prime Minister of Pakistan. We would invest in human development and we would encourage boosting productive sectors in the province.

Tourism will be promoted to become the mainstay of the provincial economy. Agriculture sector development is another area, his government would work on. The youth would be encouraged and facilitated for their responsibilities to take this province and country to new heights of development and prosperity, he added.

Mehmood Khan said that rapid industrialisation is the destination of the province. The natural resources of the province would be explored and exploited for the benefit of the people and province, he said. Mass scale investment would be facilitated and infrastructure would be developed, he added. The whole province would be integrated for expeditious development, he said.

The Chief Minister said that good governance would be the hallmark, corruption will be eliminated and merit based decision making would be promoted. The natural resources of this province would be the baseline for industrialisation and economic development, he added.

Mehmood Khan assured to go all out for people friendly governance in the province. The development funds would be judiciously distributed through a uniform development approach. Public sector institutions would be strengthened and justice would be done to everyone adding that under his rule no one would ever usurp the right of others, he said.

This nation has faced a lot of problems in the past because of bad governance, he said. Our government would provide an enabling environment to every individual to contribute to the overall development of the nation, he said, adding that his government would stand the people on their own feet.

The Chief Minister assured for a new style of governance in the province. He would prefer to be in the public and he would further cement the relationship between the rulers and masses. The gap would be eliminated and there would be no obstruction in the accessibility to all services meant for the public, he added.

His cabinet would initially comprise 10 ministers and four advisors and their performance would be under constant scrutiny. He called upon the journalists to share good ideas for effective governance and at the same time his government would welcome constructive criticism.
