KARACHI - A telecommunication company has extended its support to the 4th Karachi International Bookfair (KBIF), which is being organised under Pakistan Publishers & Booksellers Association (PPBA) in association with National Book Foundation. Karachi International Book Fair is a highly respected annual event that leaves a positive, lasting impression among sponsors, authors, and attendees alike. The positive reception to the programs; the increased numbers of participants and attendees every year are evidence that Book Fair is be continued in future. The telecommunication company's spokesman said, "We and Pakistan Publishers & Booksellers Association share a common goal of promoting books and developing a culture of books-reading in the country. It is our pleasure to support this event this year. We are extremely thankful to PPBA for giving us the opportunity to show the nation how much we care for them. "The objective for supporting the Karachi International Book Fair is to promote education and knowledge by making books available to students, educationists and other book-lovers", he further said. As may as 275 bookstalls, spread over three halls; with publishers arriving from the UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jordan and Iran. Even Indian publishers were also expected to come. Jordan and Iran are participating for the first time. The book fair, which is inspired by the Frankfurt Book Fair-the world's largest book fair; will surely give writers an opportunity to interact with publishers. Around 2,50,000 titles will grace the stalls including research work and including scientific-technical books.
