ISLAMABAD " Former President General (r) Pervez Musharraf will shift to his personal residence at Chak Shahzad after the completion of a bomb-and-explosion-proof room in it, The Nation learnt reliably here on Wednesday. Credible sources told The Nation that former President Pervez Musharraf, who is currently residing in Army House, Rawalpindi, would not shift to his personal residence at Chak Shehzad till the completion of bullet-and-shock-proof room, being specially built by a US company. "Actually in the early 2007, a US company had constructed a rare bomb proof room for the then Army Chief and President at Aiwan-e-Sadr", said the sources. Some close aides of former President and PML-Q leaders have also confirmed the report that in 2007, some kind of extraordinary construction work was under way at Aiwan-e-Sadr in the last year. Farhatullah Babar, spokesman to President Asif Ali Zardari said while talking to The Nation that he was unaware of the construction of such a room at Aiwan-e-Sadr in the previous year. When asked whether any such room existed in the Presidency, he replied that Aiwan-e-Sadr was a very big place and he had not found such a place in it. Sources told this correspondent that after former President's resignation from his office of the President on August 18, 2008 and his decision to permanently stay in Pakistan at his Chak Shehzad's farm house, he again hired the services of same US company for the construction of a similar bomb and shock proof room at his personal residence. As per sources, former President has not shifted to his Chak Shehzad farm house yet, as the explosives-proof room is under construction. It is pertinent to mention here that Musharraf's farm house at 1-A Park Road in Chak Shahzad has been built on a five-acre plot and includes a swimming pool and a walking track with an orchard of lemon, peach and apple trees.
