ISLAMABAD (APP)- Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sherry Rehman said on Wednesday that contacts between Pakistani and Syrian media would be further strengthened to bolster the traditionally enjoyed cordial and cooperative relations between the two countries in different areas like commerce and trade, culture and technical and scientific knowledge. She expressed these views while talking to a high level Syrian delegation led by Mohammad Razzouq, Deputy Information Minister. Sumsam Ali, Bukhari,Minister of State, Azeem Daultana, Parliamentary Secretary and Ashfaq Gondal, Secretary Information assisted the Minister in the meeting. Sherry Rehman further said that "Pakistan has a free, independent and robust private media with more than 60 private channels and a large number of newspapers in different languages. Syria can benefit from our expertise and best practices in media with an increased level of interaction and cooperation". "All our exchanges with our friend are based on the objective of cementing our long term association. Pakistan and Syria have an abiding interest in each others' security and stability and it is important to explore further avenues for potential cooperation and partnership.
