Mehtab, Kharal all set to join PTI

ABBOTTABAD/KARACHI (INP) – Another prominent PML-N leader and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and PPP leader and former information minister Khalid Ahmed Khan Kharal are all set to join Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf very soon.
Sources close to Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, confirming the report, said the former CM was highly annoyed when Nawaz Sharif agreed to support the change of province’s name and Hazara’s reservations were ignored.
They said this development caused big damage to the political standing of Sardar Mehtab Abbasi. They said he had resigned from the National Assembly but later on the persuasion of Nawaz Sharif he withdrew it.
Aides said Sardar Mehtab was also annoyed with the PML-N leadership for accepting Umar Ayub Khan in the party’s fold without consulting him.
Former information minister Khalid Ahmed Khan Kharal, one of the founders of PPP and close friends of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, is all set to join PTI.
Taking to a private TV channel on Saturday, Kharal said Shah Mehmood Qureshi met him and invited him to join PTI. He said he is consulting people of his constituency and majority of them want him to join PTI.
Kharal said he has expressed his inability to attend PPP Federal Council meeting at Naudero on December 27.
He said he had requested President Zardari in letters to call the meeting of Federal Council but these requests were ignored and now he has realised to call the meeting after three and a half years. Khalid Kharal as Commissioner Larkana had refused to institute a case against ZA Bhutto and was removed from service.
