“We share in this grief (over the killing of Pakistani soldiers at Salala checkpost), and we share in this sorrow, and we hope for a year in which we can look forward to peace on earth and goodwill towards men.” Surprisingly, these words were uttered at interfaith dialogue held at Faisal Mosque, Islamabad, by none other than Cameron Munter, ambassador of the United States whose soldiers deliberately and brutally, killed our men for which his bosses back home refuse even to apologise, and whose commander in Afghanistan arrogantly states that non-occurrence of such incident in future cannot be guaranteed.
If Munter is really serious about peace on earth and goodwill towards men, it would be far better if, instead of praying at Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, he went back to US and launched a peace campaign there. It is his country that messed up Iraq, is now doing the same to Afghanistan and Pakistan and has similar plans for Iran, Syria and other predominantly Muslim countries. War-making is a growth industry in the United States and the huge military-industrial complex, plus AIPAC and other vested interests, which sponsor and control puppets planted in the White House and other important places, do need a constant stream of wars to make their fortune, and together they run the United States as a mutual-benefits society. One can easily get through the internet a list of countries invaded by the US, some more than once, after World War II. With USSR broken up, and China not interested in military confrontation or establishing colonies, why does the US maintain eleven aircraft carriers, and is increasing its military presence abroad, with military base in Australia and increased presence in the Pacific being the latest?
‘Peace on earth and goodwill towards men’ will just remain distant dreams until the time the United States, the biggest war-monger and actual and perpetual war-maker on earth, switches over from war economy to peace economy.
