PAF beat PIA 2-1 in Premier League


ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Air Force (PAF) edged out Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) 2-1 in the eighth Pakistan Premier Football League match played here at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex on Saturday.
PAF started the match in positive style and controlled the ball for the larger part of the first half but remained unsuccessful to take advantage as the first half ended with 0-0. PAF striker Saleh Khan provided important goal in the 57th minute through a superbly taken free kick.
PAF lead lasted for only two minutes as PIA bounced back and levelled the match through striker Ishtiaq Ahmed in the 59th minute.
PAF tried their level best to restore their lead but all their efforts fail to bring desired results. And just when things were looking bleak for PAF, Mansoor Khan lashed on to a defensive error of PIA defence and scored his first and team’s second goal in the 77th minute. PIA strikers tried to cut the deficit but they remain unsuccessful to equalize and the match ended 2-1 in favour of PAF.
