Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government is spending huge amounts on media advertisement over launching Youth Business Loan Scheme which is being managed by his daughter Mariam Nawaz. Why is she incharge of this scheme? Does she have any administrative or financial background? This is misuse of authority to say the least.  It would appear that the Nawaz setup is using public funds to project their family members onto the political horizon.
It is not for the first time that Nawaz Sharif is using government owned banks to inflict huge monetary losses on the already cash-strapped economy through doling hard cash to launch projects that are  risky.  We have already witnessed the party playing ducks and drakes with government money in the case of ‘Yellow Taxi Scheme’. The banks have still to recover huge amounts and worse, there is hardly any Yellow Taxis seen on the roads especially in Lahore. My question is why are such schemes not debated and approved from the National Assembly? Why has Nawaz Sharif not learnt any lesson from his past mistakes and has not changed his stance regarding these schemes? Why is his government becoming a family enterprise?
