The Bahawalpur police chief has constituted an inquiry committee against the Saddar police officials including the SHO for vanishing Charas.
Station House Officer Police Station Saddar including 3 inspectors, constable and driver have been suspended and registered a case against drug dealers of 30 kilogram Charas.
The other day, the Saddar police had arrested accused named Wajahat Ali and Raaz Muhammad and recovered around 80 kilogrammes of Charas from their possession but stated only 21 kilogram in the case with the involvement of ASI Ashfaq Goraya,  ASI Ahmad Naveed, Constable Shabbir, Muhammad Shafiq and other and vanished the remaining Charas.
After publishing of a news item in the local media regarding fleeing of main criminal Raaz Muhammad, DPO Shabbir Ahmad Sithar constituted a team under the supervision of DSP Legal Shahid Iqbal and DSP Saddar Riaz Hussain to conduct inquiry against police officials and registered the case against Raaz Muhammad, Wajahat Ali and one unknown women and stated the recovery of 30 kg charas in Police Station Saddar.
DSP Saddar Riaz Hussain told the media that they were investigating the matter and strict departmental action will be taken against the officials involved in vanishing Charas. He added that police team has been dispatched to arrest the accused.
Acting DPO Bahawalpur Shabbir Ahmad Sithar took action against the police officials involved and suspended them which includes ASI Ashfaq Goraya, ASI Ahmad Naveed and others.
