LAHORE - Seven sisters along with their father and relatives staged a protest demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club on Wednesday against the alleged abduction of their 50-year-old mother.
Parveen Akhtar, resident of Dharampura, was coming to Lahore on a passenger bus from Daska district of Sialkot, when she went missing on Tuesday.
The family reached Mustafabad police station to get a case registered against unidentified kidnappers but they were told to contact the Lorry Adda police.
“When we reached the Lorry Adda police station, we were told that the incident belongs to Mustafabad police station,” Khair Din, husband of the woman, told this reporter.
He blamed police of using delaying tactics in taking any action against the abductors.
According to the complainant, his wife had gone to Sialkot to see some relatives but she was kidnapped from the bus when she was coming back to Lahore. The family has appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister to take notice of the incident and direct the police to take action for recovery of the woman.
