Three persons died as a van collided with a train which also blocked the railway traffic here on Wednesday.
The workers are busy rehabilitating traffic. The (MNT-9664) was crossing the rail line from railway crossing near Chak 45/15-L, 5 kilometres from Mian Channu railway station and about 50 kilometres from here. Meanwhile, Musa Pak Express 117-up from Multan to Lahore reached there and the van driver due to dense fog misjudged the train. As a result, the train collided with the vehicle.
The three persons namely Ghulam Muhammad, 30, Jaffar Khan, 24, and one unknown person aged 35 expired on the spot. Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies to THQ Hospital Mian Channu. Railway sources said the emergency locomotive will reach the spot to bring bogies of Musa Pak Express to Mian Channu station. Due to heavy fog and the accident, railway traffic has been suspended. The Railway authorities have started repair work at the damaged line.
