LAHORE Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the defeat of opposing candidate of PML-N in by-election of NA-55 Rawalpindi-VI, despite support of ruling party and various other political parties including PML-Q, has proved that PML-N is the most popular party among the people of Pakistan. He said that we offer thanks to Almighty Allah on this victory. He said that he is also thankful to the people of Rawalpindi. An ordinary worker of Muslim League-N, by getting more than 75,000 votes, has proved that the vote of Rawalpindi is the vote of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. In a statement here Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that the success of Shakeel Awan besides love with the Muslim League-N and its leadership by the people of Rawalpindi is also reflective of the fact that there is nothing except hatred against the promise breaking politicians and their cronies in the hearts of people of Pakistan. He said that in this election the position of Sh Rashid was not more than a stooge and he was a joint candidate of anti-democratic forces. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the people of Rawalpindi, through election results, have given a message to Sh Rasheed and his godfather sitting in a big house of Islamabad that there is no place both for the remnants of dictator Musharraf and his traditions in the politics of Pakistan. He said that in this election, people have not only given defeat to a person but in fact defeated the symbol of betray, corruption and dictatorship. Chief Minister said that the Rawalpindi election has identified the trends of future politics of Pakistan and it has become crystal clear that any unholy alliance based on vested interests cannot stand before the public power. He said that the success of Shakeel Awan in Rawalpindi is another proof of confidence of the people in the policies and performance of the government of Muslim League-N in the biggest province of Pakistan.
