I was shocked to hear Baloch Republican Party chief Brahamdagh Bugti’s statement that he will welcome all foreign intervention in the province whether it is by the US, Nato or India. He also said that people from all walks of life in Balochistan are being subjected to abductions and disappearances and undergoing torture for years. But if this is the reason for Brahamdagh Bugti to support foreign intervention then it is not justified. In all parts of Pakistan problems are present. Dr. Aafia Siddiqui was picked up arbitrarily from Karachi. Thousands of people have been killed in target killings, and military operations in Karachi. Because of inflation and few opportunities of jobs, businessmen are suffering a lot. But still all these people have no right to criticise Pakistan or demand for an independent land; they can criticise the government and can launch a big scale movement for their rights but to talk of foreign intervention is a serious issue. If Brahamdagh Bugti would have cared for Baloch people then he would have not remained in self exile.
