ISLAMABAD  - The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to Attorney General over a constitutional petition challenging allocation of 10 per cent posts of deputy secretaries for lateral induction from the autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies or corporation; provincial services; and retired military officers.

Three-member bench of Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the petition moved by Mukhtar Ahmed Abbasi vs Federal Public Service Commission Chairman and others. The bench said, “Notice be given to the respondents as well as to the Attorney General for Pakistan in view of the Office Memorandum No 1/15/92-CP-II dated October 4, 2011 regarding reservation of 10 per cent of the sanctioned post of the Deputy Secretaries for employees of the autonomous, semi-autonomous body or corporation etc.
