LAHORE – Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that development projects worth billions of rupees have been completed during the last four years in a highly transparent manner and he is ready to quit if misappropriation even of a single penny was proved. He said that his government has resolved problems of the masses with honesty and commitment and the public rejection of thieves and plunderers in the next general elections will prove this fact.  He was addressing a public gathering at the residence of former MPA Mian Majid Nawaz Arain in village Mehfooz Abad in Mailsi Friday. On the occasion the CM also announced construction of Daanish School in Vehari and two underpasses in Mailsi city.

The CM said that special attention is being paid to the development of South Punjab for removing the backwardness and sense of deprivation of the people of the area. He said that a huge sum of Rs 25 billion has been spent on the rehabilitation of affected families devastated by the floods last year while Rs 1.5 billion were utilized for the construction of 22 model villages.

Similarly, he said, 90 villages have been reconstructed with the cooperation of NGOs, philanthropists as well as Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
