FAISALABAD/HAFIZABAD - Like in other parts of the country, hundreds of religious and political parties' activists protested against the desecration of the Holy Quran at Baghram Air Base in Afghanistan, here as well.

The participants including the activists of the Jamaat-e-Islam, Jamat-ud-Dawa, Khatme Nabuwat Movement observed a black day and protested after on Friday prayers against the blasphemy. They also chanted slogans against the US and the Afghan government.

Carrying placards and banners inscribed with anti-US slogans, they pledged to render any sacrifice for the glorification of the holy book.

They also threatened to wage Jehad against the US forces. They urged the Ummah to get ready for Jehad as the US after the drama of 9/11 had launched a war against Islam.

Similarly in Hafizabad, the JI workers strongly condemned the blasphemous act by the Nato soldiers and urged the government to lodge a strong protest against the anti-Islam attitude of the allied forcess.

The workers and leaders of JI also protested against the resolution tabled in the US House of Representatives on Balochistan and termed it an interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan.
