At least three children were killed and four others including two women were injured when mortar shell fell on a house here in Khyber Agency Saturday.
According to official sources, a mortar shell fired from an undisclosed location landed on a residential house in Akakhel in tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency.
A portion of the house was destroyed and three children died and four others including two women sustained injuries.
The relatives of the victim family and neighbours on self assistance basis dug out the bodies and injured from the rubble. The injured were shifted to Peshawar for treatment.
The local sources said that miscreants wanted to target a security check post in the area but the mortar shell missed the target and fell on the house.
