Vote counting began after the completion of polling time on six National Assembly and four provincial assemblies seats in by-election Saturday. The polling process, started at 8 am and   concluded at 5pm without any break. The voting for six NA seats took place on constituencies of NA 9 Mardan I, NA 140 Kasur III, NA 148 Multan I, NA 149 Multan II, NA 168 Vehari III and NA 195 Rahim Yar Khan IV. The two constituencies of Punjab, where by-polls for provincial seats were being held, include PP 18 Attock IV; PP 44 Mianwali II. Meanwhile, 17 people, including police personnel, were injured during scuffles and exchange of fire between different political groups at various polling stations. Reports of irregularities at polling booths also came to front. The election commission had set up 980 polling stations where voters cast their ballots for vacant seats.
