Fleeing Ogra chief being brought back





ISLAMABAD – Former Ogra chief Tauqir Sadiq, the key accused in a Rs82 billion scam, is expected to be brought back to Pakistan from the UAE within 48 hours, a local news channels reported on Sunday.
According to reports, Pakistan Embassy in UAE had finalised formalities to bring the former chairman of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) back to the country.
Tauqir had gone into hiding and the NAB had been hunting for him for past several months. Eventually he was found to be residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and a police team dispatched earlier to UAE had failed to secure his custody for lack of documents required.
But now reportedly the required documents including the cancellation of his residential permit have been handed over the UAE authorities.
