Lawyers seeks courts shifting
Meanwhile, lawyers affiliated with the district bar association has demanded of the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court to review and withdraw the decision of shifting some courts from Tajazai judicial complex to Naurang.
In an application to the Registrar Peshawar High Court signed by eighty five lawyers, a copy of which is available with this scribe the lawyers said that establishment of judicial courts near Tajazai with the cost of millions of rupees and shifting courts from Lakki city to it was aimed at to ensure provision of justice to the residents of district under one roof. “The judicial complex is situated in the central place of the district and it is at equal distance from all parts of the district”, they told. They recalled that in the past residents of Lakki city and adjacent villages had held protest demonstrations against the shifting of courts to the judicial complex but later they ended their protest in the larger public interest.
The lawyers said that the decision to shift some courts to the tehsil Naurang was not suitable and it would create hatred between the residents of Lakki and Naurang towns. “The courts shifting decision if implemented will be taken as a step mother treatment with the inhabitants of Lakki town”, they maintained.
They said that any such move would pave the way for agitation by the residents of Lakki city besides it would add to the problems of lawyers and litigants. They told that the residents of Lakki city would be justified to demand for setting up courts in their urban locality if dwellers were provided with the facility.
