Strange contradiction

In his interview in Sunday Plus (Jan 23), Jamaat Islami Ameer Syed Munawwar Hasan castigates the govt, blaming it of committing serious wrongs, and in the same breath wants it to remain in power and complete its term of five years He says, The present rulers are slaves of the US and cannot be expected to take independent decisions. We cannot expect the present corrupt rulers to address the problem (of the bad state of economy). This is not possible for them. The Prime Minister is taking his share (of the booty) and the President is taking his. Those who are responsible for creating the problem (in Karachi) cannot be expected to solve it. And people in power are responsible for the present situation. At the same time, he rejects mid-term polls and repeatedly emphasizes: We want the present rulers to complete their term so that they dont become political martyrs. Well not like to provide them with an opportunity to claim that they would have changed the destiny of the country and solved all problems if they had been allowed to complete their term. What a pity Can he not see the simple reality what this government would do in the next two years? It will do more, indeed much more, of the same, what it has done in the past three years. Does it not convey an impression of his and his Jamaats apathy toward the crippling effects on the public created by the governments conduct and policieswhich the JI Ameer has himself severely criticised?
