A COUPLE from Mansfied in Nottinghamshire have banked a massive jackpot of nearly £41 million from last week’s EuroMillions draw.

The pair whose full identities have not yet been revealed, scooped the rollover jackpot of £40,627,241 in the draw on January 20. They plan to go public later today and reveal how they plan to spend their winnings.

Their success is the seventh biggest UK lottery win. The record is held by Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs, Scotland, who won £161 million on EuroMillions last July. They donated £1m to the Scottish National Party’s campaign for independence.  Mr and Mrs Weir, from the seaside town of Largs in Ayrshire - whose £161 EuroMillions win put them just behind the Beckhams in the UK rich list - are lifelong SNP supporters.          –TG
