LAHORE – Senior Federal Minister for Industries and Defence Production, Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi, while saying that he fulfilled his promise of reducing GST on tractors, has pledged that cutting prices of agriculture machinery is one of top priorities of government.
He expressed these views while talking to farmers’ delegation who called on him at his residence on Tuesday.
He said that provision of various facilities to the farmers’ community and alluring the growers towards new trends of farming was on the top priorities of the government in a bid to increase per acre yield, which would ultimately benefit the farmers’. Pervaiz maintained that increase in buying of tractors was the first positive sign after lowering GST.
He, while welcoming the decision of giving easy loans to farmers by Agriculture Development Bank to buy tractors, said that it would prove as a great assistance to small land holding farmers.
He said that provision of maximum facilities to farmers to increase production of agriculture goods. He said his ministry would continue to take further steps for the progress of farmers.
