LAHORE – PML-Q parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly while expressing serious concern over the tragic incidents of spurious medicines causalities at PIC asked the Chief Minister that he should at least tell the public representatives about the facts in this regard.

He said on Tuesday that appointing a non-technical member for probing into the PIC fake medicines issue expressed lack of interest on part of the provincial government to solve the matter and taking culprits to the task.

Meanwhile, PTI president Punjab, Ahsan Rasheed while holding the provincial government responsible for the deaths of several patients due to spurious medicines said, “What we are seeing, are the deaths in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology but no statistics are available from other hospitals of the province in this regard, as it is inconceivable that these fake medicines were only supplied in a particular hospital”.

He asked the Lahore High Court Chief Justice to take suo motto notice of the matter.

Ahsan claimed that there were credible reports that these medicines were bought from unauthorized sources because of political considerations.
