It is beyond comprehension that why the Government of Punjab has withheld the  Integrated Traffic Management System project, which was expected to complete last year. This has been done without realising that worldwide this system is build to keep the flow of traffic uninterrupted. Besides this, most of the focus is on the widening of roads, construction of flyovers and underpasses, and other short-term plans to ease traffic congestion.
In addition, the Lahore Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) is nearing  completion. It has already led to severe traffic mess at the Lower Mall, Azadi Chowk and other link roads. Hopefully, after it is completed, the people will be relieved of the agony of getting stuck in traffic jams and their lives will get back to normal.
