FAISALABAD
The Fesco chief executive officer disclosed in a meeting that about 3,000 posts of grade 1 to 20 have been lying vacant in Fesco while recruitments would be made transparently and according to the merit policy of the government.
The meeting of the sub-committee of the Standing Committee for Water & Power was held here under the chair of Convener Rana Afzal Hussain at Fesco Headquarters.
Col (R) Ghulam Rasool Sahi, a member of the committee, MNA Akram Ansari, sub-committee Secretary Malik Amir Hussain, Fesco Chief Executive Officer Rashid Ahmed Aslam and chief engineers were present.
During the meeting, the convener appreciated the overall performance of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company, and said that the government was taking steps to bridge the gap between demand and supply of electricity. He further said that the government was also trying to improve the efficiency of Distribution Companies (DISCOS). He said that measures were being taken to provide maximum relief to the public, adding that energy crisis could be reduced through better management.
The Fesco CEO said during first six months of fiscal year 2014-15, the recovery of was 99.9% which is the best among all the Discos. He told that under the People’s Works Programme, 4,271 schemes were completed during the period of 2014 to 2007 and work was in progress on 355 other schemes. The meeting was told that under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), six new grid stations have been completed in the 6th programme and work is in progress at two grids.
