Javed Yousaf serving DPS for 33 years
LAHORE: Senior journalist, Javed Yousaf, has achieved the distinction of serving for 33 years as member Board of Governor, Divisional Public School (DPS) Model Town which now holds the status of an Intermediate College.
The 33-year old membership of Javed Yousaf is a record for serving in any autonomous institution of the country. As member of the Board, he rendered valuable services to the institution particularly about setting up the DPS Township branch which completed its silver jubilee last week.
He also played a key role in the establishing the Nursery branch as well as for introducing employees pension system.–Staff Reporter
SSP takes charge
LAHORE: Newly-appointed Lahore SSP (Operations) Muhammad Baqar Raza has taken the charge of his office on Saturday.
Baqar, an officer of 31st common batch, was earlier posted as Model Town SP (Operation). A police spokesperson said that the SSP met the office staff and also held an introductory meeting with the field officers to spell out his priorities. On this occasion, he told the policemen that they would fight terrorism and extremism simultaneously.–Staff Reporter
Workshop on Emergency Response Planning
LAHORE: Punjab University College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES) organised on Saturday a one-day workshop on “Emergency Response Planning (ERP) towards any terrorist activity”.
CEES Principal Dr Firdaus-e-Bareen, trainers’ team from Pak-Safety Solutions Ltd and students were present on the occasion.
In her address, Dr Firdaus welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of such planning in emergency situations that were required in the present-day scenario. The trainers’ team led by Muhammad Muzaffar Baig involved the students in active foot drills and practical demonstration to respond to such situation without panic.
The team also delivered a detailed lecture on health and safety.
