Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ehsan Iqbal has said that the PML-N government has been utilising all-out sincere efforts to fulfil all its promises and raise living standard of the public by providing all basic facilities to the masses at their doorsteps.

He stated this while addressing the participants of the inaugural ceremony of regional passport office at Narowal here on Saturday.  Local MPA Khawaja Waseem Butt, Narowal DCO Syed Najaf Iqbal, PML-N Narowal District President Malik Tariq Awan and local notables were also present on the occasion.

The federal minister added that effective and positive economic policies of the government had started bearing fruit, adding that the government would ensure continuity of its policies for the stability of economy and the country.

Ehsan Iqbal revealed that the government was committed to weeding out terrorism and was making all out sincere efforts for the purpose. He said that the armed forces of Pakistan would never allow anyone to use Pakistani land for terrorism, saying that the armed forces were full capable to weed out the menace of terrorism from the country.

The federal minister also stressed the need for adopting democratic behaviour and respect for each others’ mandate, saying that everyone would have to come forward and play a pivotal for national development, progress and prosperity.

Earlier, while addressing an important meeting, Ehsan Iqbal said that the construction of grand project of Rs2.7 billion of Sports City was briskly underway at Narowal to promote indoor and outdoor games and explore talent at local level, adding that Narowal was enriched with natural talent and now the time was ripe to polish and encourage this talent at every level. He said that there was a dire need for the promotion of unity among all segments of society, adding that the time warranted all political parties to be united by shunning their political differences in the larger national interest.

He urged the politicians to think for the betterment of the country to make it strong economically and politically.

Later, Federal Minister also visited the under construction project of Sports City at Narowal here. He directed the officials concerned to ensure timely completion of the project.

Meanwhile, the longstanding dream of people of Narowal came as Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ch Ehsan Iqbal inaugurated regional passport office here at ceremony on Saturday.

After a long wait for 25 years, Narowal district has finally got its own regional passport office and residents of both Sialkot and Narowal districts have warmly welcomed the establishment of passport office in Narowal.

The people of Sialkot were of the view that establishment of passport office at Narowal would definitely lessen the burden from Sialkot regional passport office, which had been catering to the need of people Narowal district.

While, the people of Narowal district were much rejoiced, saying that now they had their own passport office in Narowal, which had got them rid of travelling to Sialkot for getting their passports.

Narowal    had been given the status of a district 25 years ago in 1990 but this district had no regional passport office.
