SIALKOT - The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) has started issuance of 22,000 new electricity connections to applicants in Gujranwala Region’s all six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts after purchasing 150,000 new electric meters of different categories.
Gepco Gujranwala Region Chief Executive Zahoor Ahmed Chohan stated this while talking to the newsmen here. He said that the Gepco officials were also changing as many as 14,000 old and faulty electric meters.
He said that the Gepco was now issuing t tube-well, industrial, commercial and domestic connections to applicants, saying that the Superintending Engineers (SEs) concerned and SDOs had also been directed to report their high ups after running the new electricity connections.
The Gepco CE warned that stern legal and departmental action would be taken against all the responsible Gepco officials for excessive and over billing to the consumers.
