Islamabad - The recent rain-spell in the federal capital has increased the demand of popular winter delights and other eatables.

With increasing chill in the weather after dropping mercury, the food stalls carrying soup, “gajar ka halwa”, fish, coffee, “kashmiri tea”,” jalebi”, “samosas”,” pakoras” and other items witnessed huge rush of buyers. The vendors have set-up their stalls in different markets of capital including Melody market, Karachi Company, Jinnah Super Market, Super Market, Aabpara Market, F-10 Markaz, Blue Area to offer variety of food items.

Naima, a student said,”Whenever it is raining, we all friends go for snacks and coffee in the evening time.

The mouth-watering aroma of winter delights especially “halwa”, soup and other snacks during rain increases joy”,she added. Ali Akbar, a vendor at Karachi Company said, “rainy days gives the best opportunity to sell spicy items like “pakoras, samosa, rolls etc.

Sale of popular delights multiplies with drop in mercury and also gives a chance to earn handsome amount.”
