KARACHI - Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General Samiuddin Siddiqui has said that all the issues of Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) would be solved on priority basis while cooperation will keep continue with them.

He expressed his views during a meeting with a delegation of the ABAD at Civic Center on Wednesday. Siddiqui said that operation had been carried out against illegal occupation on the KDA’s land by estate & enforcement of the authority while steps should be taken for handed over the auctioned plots to the ABAD. “We are taking sincere efforts for solving all the problems of the ABAD,” Siddiqui added.

ABAD’s Senior Vice Chairman Fiaz Ilyas and Vice Chairman Muhammad Sohail gave a different suggestion for the solution of all problems while the director general assured that practical steps should be taken on their positive suggestions. The ABAD’s representatives praised the director general efforts for solving the issues. On the other side, Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Agha Maqsood Abbas has taken departmental action against 54 officers over failure in real demolition action against illegal construction. The action has been taken after completion of an inquiry which conducted by inquiry committee of the SBCA.

The SBCA spokesperson said that the committee had formed by the director general of SBCA to compile a progress report of all officers.

As per the directives, the committee compiled a report and forward to the director general for legal departmental action. Following the report, the SBCA director general has taken action against 33 officers of Gulshan Town, 16 of Gulberg Town and five officers of Gulberg Town. So far department has taken action against the irregularities of the officials and following that some of them have been revert, along with holding of yearly allowances and few were warned.
