The minister lauded performance of the FIA immigration wing and awarded them appreciation certificates on foiling the suspended Senior Superintendent of Police Malir Rao Anwar’s attempt to flee from the country, a press release said.

The minister appreciated the alertness, dedication and honesty of the FIA officers and called upon all the civil servants to perform their duties with full devotion and according to the law.

It is worth mentioning that Rao Anwar is facing charges of staging fake encounters in Karachi. Recently, an aspiring model, Naqeeb, was killed in one such encounter which was first claimed by the suspended SSP but he later denied his involvement in the encounter.

Karachi police has summoned Rao Anwar to face an inquiry. However, instead, the suspended SSP tried to flee abroad through the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad. The FIA officials foiled his bid.
