KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Wednesday visited Pakhtun Jirga protesting against extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud.
It is pertinent to mention here that, local people and Mehsud tribes have put a camp at Sohrab Goth to protest against the extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah who was allegedly killed by police during a raid at a terrorist’s hideout in locality of Shah Latif Town, District Malir Karachi while the encounter was declared suspicious afterwards. Jirga has announced that anyone including the investigation team officials who wants to meet Naqeebullah‘s family should come to the camp while no sitting would be held at any other place.
On Wednesday, political parties’ leaders including coordination committee members of MQM-P, PTI and other social activists visited the camp and grieved with the family of deceased.
Addressing the participants of Jirga, MQM-P Deputy convener Kamran Tissori demanded to form a commission to probe the extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah and others. He said people of Karachi since long has remained the victim of extrajudicial killing while time has arrived now all the political forces should sit together to halt the illegal practice of police department.
MQM-P always condemned extrajudicial killing and it also raised the issue on the floor at various instant. We are also victims of extrajudicial killing and not here for any point scoring but to condemn the illegal practice of police department and express solidarity with the Pakhtoon Jirga, said Tissori.
On the occasion, MQM-P leader Faisal Sabzwari demanded to expose the people those gave shelter to Rao Anwar and posted him for a long duration in District Malir.
Condemning the extrajudicial killing of the Naqeebullah, PTI leader Imran Ismail alleged that Rao Anwar is hiding in Bilawal House Lahore. We stood with the decision of Jirga and came here to express solidarity with the family of deceased.
He said that blood of innocent people will not go in vain and Rao Anwar would be behind the bars soon. PTI Imran Khan has shown concern over the killing of innocent in fake encounter and party delegation of KPK province scheduled to visit Jirga camp.
Naqeebullah Relative Malik Hashim Mehsud said that family of the deceased will not comprise on the murder of Naqeebullah by the police personnel in a fake encounter. We are not against the state and our past shows that our forefathers sacrificed their lives for the country. The government is responsible for the illegal practice of security agencies against the citizen. We want supremacy of judiciary said Hashim and warned the ruling government to halt targeting innocent people of country in the guise of terrorism, he added.
