LAHORE - A man strangled his 6-year-old sister-in-law after committing rape with her here in Hudyara area, police said on Friday. The police investigators said that Rahmat took the minor girl to the fields where he raped her and later strangulated her to death. The killer strangulated the girl to death after her condition got deteriorated and fled away after throwing her body outside the residence of one Ramzan, neighbourer of the deceased. Muhammad Nawaz father of the girl immediately took her to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far. A good number of local residents gathered outside the residence of the victim family soon after the death of the minor girl and staged strong protest demonstration against the innocent killing. They also demanded the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take strict action against the merciless killing and ensure immediate arrest of the killer to provide justice to the poor family. Further investigations were underway. Two motorcyclists crushed to death Two young motorcyclists were crushed to death when a rashly driven truck hit their two-wheeler here in Shadbagh area, police said on Friday. The police said that two friends Rashid, 23, and Jamil, 24, were on their way to Shadbagh when a recklessly driven truck smashed into their motorcycle in Jamal Kunda area. Both the friends died on the spot while the driver managed to escape from the scene. The police have impounded the truck and are investigating. The police said that Rashid was the resident of Misri Shah while Jamil was the resident of Shahdra. The police handed over the bodies to the deceased families. SC urged to revisit PCO controversial decisions Chairman Judicial Crisis Management Council Shafqat Mahmood Chohan has urged the Supreme Court to revisit all the controversial decisions passed by the PCO judiciary under the shadow of PCO. Addressing a meeting of the Council here Friday Chohan lauded the Supreme Court call to Pervez Musharraf and said, whatever the decision on the matter, the legal fraternity would stand by the independent judiciary. He said it was in accordance with legal requirement that former Army Chief has been summoned by the court and now it is up to him to appear and speak on his PCO and the acts carried out under the same. He urged the SC to review all the controversial decisions in the interest of plugging the way to dictatorship for good and to let the nation find a right direction. He also called for making public Hamoodur Rehman Commission Report on Dhaka Fall and award of punishment to those who have been held responsible for dismemberment of Pakistan therein.
